Description
Complex and very dry, with an intriguing berry aroma. Mildly tannic. Red berries
with enticing aromas and bright, buoyant fruit on the palate.
Fruit
We use wild blueberries grown in western Massachusetts and Northern Maine and
Merlot grapes grown in New York or Rhode Island.
Winemaking
The blueberries and grapes are processed and fermented separately in their skins
until the desired color is attained. The fruit is then pressed and
fermentation is completed in stainless steel tanks. The wine is transferred to
American oak barrels for 8 to 16 months. It is then blended and bottled dry.
Aging
This wine ages well in the bottle for 3-5 years.
